Mark Kessler, Manager of Forensics, Retires; Roger Butler to Step into Role
Centerville, Ohio – For nearly three decades, Tri-Tech Engineering has supplied forensics-engineering services. Mark Kessler (PE, 1992), for more than a third of that time, has overseen and facilitated Tri-Tech’s forensic-investigative services, serving Tri-Tech’s many clients with the company’s relational focus and emphasis on being “built on integrity.” At the end of November, Kessler will transition from his role as manager of forensics to celebrate his retirement after 28 years as a professional engineer.
With more than 20 years’ experience as an investigative engineer, Kessler served insurance adjusters, contractors, and attorneys. As manager of forensics at Tri-Tech, he utilized his structural-engineering expertise along with Tri-Tech’s vast multi-disciplinary team of structural engineers, along with their mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers (MEP) to provide clients with the most factual reports.
“Tri-Tech is unique among engineering firms because of its multifaceted services, which include forensic services, while ensuring clients feel like they’re Tri-Tech’s singular focus on any given project,” shared Kessler.
Kessler continued to grow Tri-Tech’s rapport among satisfied clientele and expanded its forensics-expertise portfolio throughout his tenure, utilizing the best in customer care and engineering know-how with Tri-Tech’s extensively qualified team.
“We have really good engineers here at Tri-Tech Engineering. I could always reach out to them to collaborate and ensure the success of a claim,” says Kessler. “Our structural engineers are advanced, and it has always been nice to have an entire team ready to help. I’m going to miss the people here the most.”
Kessler looks forward to spending time with his grandkids and traveling.
Following Kessler’s retirement, Tri-Tech team member and mechanical engineer Roger Butler (PE, 2005) will step into the role of manager of forensics. Butler has served with Tri-Tech for six years. He looks to continue Kessler’s relational rhythm in the forensics department to provide Tri-Tech’s clients with the highest level of expertise. Butler has served on forensics investigations in the past, and he looks to expand Tri-Tech reputation in this field and grow its capacity to serve more claims.
“I’m looking forward to stepping into this role. Tri-Tech’s pursuit to be ‘built on integrity’ is not a buzzword or catchy slogan,” shared Butler. “It’s what we believe, so it’s what we practice; it’s what we embody in every project.”
Tri-Tech offers forensics-and-investigative services for many kinds of possible claims. Tri-Tech’s team’s cumulative engineering experience enables them to offer detailed investigations involving structural investigation—structural collapse or damage, roof inspections for wind and hail damage, foundation failures, repair recommendations—mechanical investigations—product liability and failures, mechanical pipe systems, heating and air-conditioning failures—and electrical investigations—lighting strikes and electrical systems analysis. Tri-Tech can often be on site within the same week of receiving a call, and its commitment to being “built on integrity” means its reports will vindicate the facts involved in a claim.
Tri-Tech Engineering is grateful for Mark Kessler’s years of dedicated service and is eager to continue serving its clients with Roger Butler and the rest of the Tri-Tech team.
